Would it be bad to remove this piece from my car..

See that piece running down in front of my radiator. Well my front crossmember was damaged in an accident so I ordered a new one but when I got it it was just the top piece so when I tried to remove it I found out that that piece in front of the radiator was welded to it, and I lack welding skills.

So what should I do. I feel like since it is part of the front support it would probably weaken the car to remove it.

I was thinking of ordering the other piece and then drilling a hole and them bolting them together.

Anyone have an ideas?

That is a part of your core support. If you take that out I think that when the hood slams shut it will bend that beam that it latches into. I would try to find a complete core support out of a junk yard. The core does need to be welded in.(for strength)
